Englewood Community Hospital announces the appointment of new CEO, Valerie Powell-Stafford, FACHE, effective April 1, 2016.

For 30 years, Englewood Community Hospital has provided high quality healthcare to the community it serves and I look forward to working with the medical staff and employees to continue the growth of services we provide our patients. I'm eager to meet the community members and continue our hospital tradition of service." said Valerie Powell-Stafford, FACHE.
Her background includes more than 19 years of healthcare management experience, including executive positions with Yale New Haven Hospital and H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center prior to joining HCA in 2008. Powell-Stafford began her HCA career as the Assistant Administrator for Community Hospital New Port Richey and was quickly promoted to Chief Operating Officer for Doctors Hospital of Sarasota where she served for five years. Two years ago, she was appointed Chief Operating Officer for 383-bed Blake Medical Center in Bradenton, where among multiple accomplishments, she assisted in the development of the Burn Center. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a penchant for both business development and operational excellence which will positively contribute to Englewood's continued growth and commitment to patient care.
Powell-Stafford's educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Health Administration from Indiana University and a Master of Health Services Administration from the University of Michigan. Board certified in healthcare management as an American College of Health Executives (ACHE) Fellow, she currently serves as a member of the Board of Governors of ACHE. She has had many community and civic affiliations, including Sarasota/Manatee American Heart Association and Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Greater Tampa. She was recently honored by the Sarasota YMCA as a recipient of the 2014 Star Adult Achiever Award.
