Englewood, FL - Englewood Community Hospital Chief Executive Officer, Dale Alward, recently presented an $18,000 donation to the Englewood Community Care Clinic Board of Directors. Alward stated, "We are delighted to continue to support the Englewood Community Care Clinic and its mission to provide free episodic medical services to the uninsured and working poor in the greater Englewood area. This clinic provides a dedicated team of volunteer caregivers that are focused on serving our community; some of those volunteering are also a part of our team at Englewood Community Hospital. It's truly an honor to contribute resources to such an outstanding organization in our community."

The clinic opened in January 2011 and provides episodic medical care to area residents 18-64 years of age. "The Englewood Community Care Clinic is having a real impact in our community having recently surpassed the 4,300th patient visit mark. This funding has allowed us to hire a part-time nurse case manager to assist patients and ensure consistent care is provided going forward" said Beth Harrison, Executive Director. The clinic will continue to be open on Monday and Thursday evenings at 5:00 pm with volunteer physicians and nurses providing medical services. It is located at 6868 San Casa Drive in Englewood and serves both Charlotte and Sarasota County residents.
