Englewood, Florida – Englewood Community Hospital (ECH) announced today that it has partnered with Fawcett Medical Imaging (FMI), a radiology group with Fawcett Memorial Hospital that is defining quality standards in radiology. FMI will work closely with ECH’s medical staff to support the best patient care possible
Radiology is important to physicians because it is often the starting point of patient care. The partnership with Fawcett Medical Imaging provides ECH’s medical staff with access to high-quality reports, around the clock.
“After a thorough evaluation of our current radiology providers, we selected FMI because of its strong commitment to quality interpretations and its clinical expertise,” said Alex Chang, Chief Operating Officer, (COO) for Englewood Community Hospital. “Both administration and the medical staff were impressed with FMI’s delivery model because it meets our requirements of helping to improve the patient care experience and controlling spending without sacrificing quality.”
FMI employs veteran radiologists with expertise in a range of areas including emergency care, radiology, neuroradiology, musculoskeletal radiology, women’s imaging, ultrasound, MRI, and nuclear medicine. All of FMIs radiologists are board-certified by the American Board of Radiology. FMI requires their radiologists to have three-to-five years of experience that include:
- Academic and/or fellowship experience
- Clear motivation to focus exclusively on their Radiology service
- Interpreting an average of 10,000 to 15,000 cases annually to maintain their expertise
“In this era of healthcare reform, ECH realizes it must provide standards-based radiology that will increase the level of accountability to satisfy medical staff requirements and effectively treat patients,” said FMI’s Co-founder Ramaman Venkat, MD. “Imaging is a significant clinical and cost component of most major diseases, from cancer and cardiovascular disease to obesity and stroke. A strong radiology partner at the start of the treatment process helps physicians make more informed diagnoses so that they can provide the highest quality of care to their patients as efficiently as possible.”
